Course Outline
Day 1: Tuning In To Your Cycles & The 3 Pillars of Health
Ayurveda relies upon the intelligence of the cosmos–if you want to understand how the universe works, you must tune in to your own cycles. In this course, you’ll learn how to use the principles of Ayurveda to bring the focus back to you so you can make more intuitive and informed health decisions.
Day 2: The Five Elements of Food & Balancing Your Meals
The universe and everything in it was created with five elements: earth, water, fire, wind, and ether. For the creation of the planet, five elements came together in different proportions, and since we are made of the five elements, it takes these five elements to feed and nourish us. Once we understand our composition, and how these elements work in our bodies, we can start to understand what we need to replenish ourselves.
Day 3: Timing Your Meals for Optimal Digestive Health
Discover the things that have a major impact on your ability to digest and properly use the energy from foods. One of those things is the timing of consumption of food. Others include eating food in the right order, water consumption at meals, your posture, and meal proportions.
Day 4: Simple Rules for Vibrant Health
Our relationship with food has been damaged to the point that it’s hard to tune in and ask, Am I really hungry? Has my food been digested? Luckily, Ayurveda provides us with a formula to understand whether our food has been digested or not.
Day 5: Evaluating Food Groups & Their Nutritional Value
How do you evaluate different foods? In this segment, you will study the various food groups, including plant proteins, vegetables, and meats, and assess their elemental dominance, their taste, and then determine what their action in the body is.
Day 6: Understanding Good and Bad Food Combinations
It’s important to understand what food combinations lead to undigested material, called ama, in your system, so you can make more informed decisions that support your digestive health.
Day 7: Your Sacred Kitchen & Nourishing Recipes
In modern times, our relationship with the kitchen is either non-existent or damaged, so almost everyone feels daunted when they think about Ayurvedic cooking. In this segment, you will discover how to change that relationship and start to view your kitchen, and the time you spend in it, as sacred.
Day 8: Living the Principles of Ayurveda
We are no longer the farm-to-table species. Processed food, meal prep, and stale foods are some of our biggest blocks to Ayurvedic living. Today, let’s look at how we can begin to view food differently and keep Ayurvedic principles alive even in the current environment.
Day 9: True Harmony & Everyday Ayurveda Routines
This section includes easy-to-follow steps so can make every meal, your day, and your life true to Ayurveda. Nidhi also busts some common Ayurveda myths.
Day 10: Recognizing & Correcting Imbalance in Your Body
What does it mean to experience symptoms of imbalance? In this segment we review what’s happening in your body and how you can use food to bring it back to balance. You’ll learn how to identify and correct vata, kapha, and pitta imbalances, as well as how to best eat in each season of the year so you stay in homeostasis. You’ll also learn the Ayurvedic protocols for treating the common cold, a fever, and stomach bugs.
BONUS: Understanding Menopause
This 40-minute bonus lesson covers how our lifestyle and food affect our experience of menopause — and how Ayurvedic principles can help smooth the transition.
Free yourself from food fears.
This course is an invitation to reclaim the power of knowing what you need, when you need it – no longer dependent on outsourcing your diet and nutrition decisions. You will create a more trusting connection to your body’s innate intelligence, the rhythms of nature, and the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.
