Mihir A. Desai

Mihir A. Desai Mizuho Financial Group Professor Finance Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School. He earned his Ph.D. degree in political economics from Harvard University, his MBA as Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School, and his bachelor’s degree from Brown University in history and economy. He was a Fulbright Scholar to India in 1994.

Professor DesaiHis areas of expertise include corporate finance, international finance, tax policy and international finance. His research has focused on the design of tax policies in a globalized environment, the link between corporate governance, taxation, as well as the internal capital markets for multinational firms. He is a Research Assistant in the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Public Economics and Corporate Economics. Finance Programs and served as co-director of the NBER’s India Program. He has testified before Congress several times. on various tax policy questions.

Professor Desai He has been awarded the prestigious Teaching Excellence Award-HBS and Harvard University’s winning teacher. He has taught undergraduates public economics and entrepreneurial, finance and international finance to MBA students, executives, and tax policy and policy to students. Professor Desai A course on finance online through the HBX platform was created titled Leading with Finance. His most recent book is The Wisdom of FinancePublished in May 2017, titled Discovering Humanity in a World of Risk and Return.

His professional experiences include working at CS First Boston, McKinsey & Co., and advising a number of firms and governmental organizations.
