Dr. Robert Sears – The Vaccine Conversation – Series 1 – Childhood Vaccine Schedule
Robert W. Sears, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician practicing in southern California. A graduate of Georgetown University with pediatric training at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Dr. Bob has authored and co-authored multiple bestselling books in the Sears Parenting Library, including The Portable Pediatrician, The Baby Book, and The Autism Book. Alongside his medical practice, he is a sought-after educator and the creator of The Vaccine Conversation podcast, which has reached over 2 million downloads worldwide.
In 2015, California passed a landmark law requiring all children in both public and private schools to be vaccinated unless they qualified for a medical exemption. With exemptions left to physician discretion, Dr. Bob and other open-minded pediatricians carefully evaluated children whose family history or medical conditions raised concern. He became a leading voice in the debate, launching The Vaccine Conversation podcast and later a nonprofit initiative to raise awareness for medical freedom. He also produced The Vaccine Conversation five-part video series, providing families with education on vaccine safety, risks, and parental rights.
The conversation grew even more urgent in 2019, when new legislation severely restricted medical exemptions, allowing them only in rare cases of severe adverse reactions. Dr. Bob has since continued his advocacy, focusing on evidence-based discussion and empowering parents to ask informed questions about their children’s health.
