Your product launch should generate at least $50,000 per hour.

I used product revenue from my side gig to pay the last $100,000 off my house.

A crazy world
Each of these statements were met simply with a head nod or a resounding “Yes!” “nicely done.” There was no surprise or shock, just simple eyes of agreement that made it appear like there was nothing unusual about those statements.
The friend who planned only 4 or 5 large trips per year was more organized than friends who travel indefinitely or have visited every country on the planet.
My circle of business friends will likely support a large product launch. “wow, nicely done!” However, there is no need to be incredulous or doubt the numbers. We’ve all seen it too often to be surprised.
It is not uncommon to pay a few hundred thousand more for a downpayment on a house or to pay off an existing loan.
Let’s stop for a second and get one thing straight: I live in a crazy world!

Build an audience
This world may be a far cry from making a steady salary at a corporate gig, but it’s very possible and starts with one simple step: build an audience.
In a conversation about business, a friend asked me my plans for the future. His question suggested that he believed success was temporary and that revenue would soon dry up. I don’t agree.
I don’t expect my income to nearly double every year (as it has for the last two years)—so I save money aggressively and stay out of debt—but I do know I will be able to continue to make several hundred thousand dollars per year. Because I have one asset: my audience.
Once you have thousands of people following you, you won’t have to start all over again. Even if your business pivots, some of those people will still follow you. It’s much easier to sustain revenue for years to come by not having to start again.

Multiple products, one audience
Once you have that audience, it becomes far easier to increase revenue by launching multiple products—all targeting one audience. Successful entrepreneurs have made the mistake of creating new products for different audiences using the skills and money they have gained from one audience. I think that’s a mistake.
Although you should create new products you should also create products for your core audience if you want maximum revenue. If you promote one product, it will also sell other products.
It’s better to have one product for one audience than it is to have two products for two separate audiences. Focus is key to growing your business.
If you have multiple products for the same audience, you can master upselling. This is the best way to increase your revenue.
